Basketball is a sport that combines strength, speed, vertical repetition, and multi-directional movements. Basketball specific training
at the Sports Institute will focus on each of these variables to maximize the athlete's potential on the court.
By incorporating integrated stabilization and strength equivalent exercises in our training programs, we are
able to access, teach, and perform these exercise protocols to develop a well rounded player.
Multi-directional movement in this sport requires a lot of strength and quickness to move not only your body into a position to shoot
or rebound. By increasing the upper and lower body strength a player is able to reach his or her position quickly and under control
to shoot or rebound the basketball. Each athlete will also be assessed and monitored in corrective exercise training to prevent injury.
Basketball players at the Sports Institute will perform Olympic strength training to develop power
for vertical jump, rotary exercise for core development, over speed treadmills for speed and quickness training
and basketball specific drills to increase multi-directional movements.
