Wrestling Performance Training
As one of the oldest and primitive sports known to man as a way of showing strength and to gain advantages and control over their opponent. Wrestling is a sport that consists of total body and multi directional movements that are sometimes performed in the most awkward of positions. Wrestling specific training at the Sports Institute will focus on each of these variables to maximize the athlete's potential on the mat. By incorporating integrated stabilization and strength equivalent exercise protocols to develop a well rounded athlete.
Movement and agility in this sports requires a lot of power and strength to move not only your body but another opponent's body for control to win a match. By increasing the upper and lower body strength the athlete is able to perform these awkward holds and maneuvers quickly and efficiently to gain advantages on the mat. Each athlete will also be assessed and monitored in corrective exercise training to prevent injury.
Wrestlers at the Sports Institute will perform Olympic strength training to develop power, strength, and rotary exercise for core development, over speed treadmills for conditioning, balance balls for stability and wrestling specific drills to increase strength ans agility movements.
